Remission is a reduction in the period of criminal service
given to inmates and children in conflict with the law ("children") who fulfill
the conditions specified in the legislation. We can find this definition in
Article 1 number 6 of Government Regulation Number 32 of 1999 concerning the
Requirements and Procedures for the Implementation of the Right of Corrected
Citizens ("PP 32/1999") and Article 1 number 3 of the Regulation of the Minister
of Law and Human Rights Number 3 of 2018 concerning Terms and Procedures for
Giving Remission, Assimilation, Family Visit Leave, Conditional Exemption,
Free Approach Leave, and Conditional Leave ("Permenkumham 3/2018").
